Dorothy's in the community

Dorothy's is proud to help others in our community in the ways that we can.  In December, 2017 we helped raise much needed food for the Rainier Valley Food Bank.  We are now pleased to be in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and to help raise money for supplies to build decent housing in Zambia.

On this Global Village trip the team will spend the week serving Zambia’s most vulnerable populations – orphans and children, persons with disabilities and the elderly.

The team’s work is essential to the region as more than 80 percent of the population in Zambia is considered low-income and families in both rural and urban areas are unable to attain safe and decent housing. One in every four children in Zambia is an orphan and so the homes are typically for an adult and several children.  Malaria and AIDs are the biggest killers.

Led by Jessie Strauss, this Zambia team will head to Africa in June where they can build a house for just $5,000.

Jessie is turning 80 in April and this will be her last build with Habitat although she has helped build many homes.

Dorothy's is honoring Jessie's celebration and assisting her in raising money for her team to build much needed housing.

Won’t you celebrate and support the team?

Woodhouse Winery

15500 Woodinville-Redmond Road Northeast C600, Woodinville,

April 20th

7:00 to 9:00 pm

The first part of the evening will be open mic piano bar, featuring Dorothy's owner, John Lehrack.  Guests are invited to bring a song to sing or choose something from our book.  During this time, guests will be able to browse the silent auction.

Our main performers this evening will be Seattle's favorite cabaret trio, Bodacious Ladyhood.  Bodacious Ladyhood is a Seattle-based trio of women who have been singing together for over fifteen years. Carolyn, Loretta and Jenny met via the local theatre scene and since then have been delighting audiences all over the Puget Sound area. They performed at Chateau Ste. Michelle winery and on live, national radio as guests on “A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor.” They take inspiration from a vast range of styles including folk, ‘60s girl groups, humor, prog-rock and jazz. They have been called “vibrant-voiced”, “impressive, innovative and inimitable”, and “a must-see.”  Bodacious Ladyhood is three parts harmony, one part comedy and a whole lot of fun.

A no-host wine bar and small plate selection will complete the evening.

Tickets are $35 each and $60 per couple.

If you can't attend but would like to support the team, your donation is welcome. Please use the link below and indicate that you are giving to donor # GV18563
